- (3/1/2015) GEMRES is back! We apologize for the long absence. Several of our core members were on sabbatical last year and this year, and those of us left behind got wrapped up in teaching and so on. But we are back online and look forward to letting you know about upcoming events of interest to the computational science community at BSU
- (5/1/2013) Argonne National Laboratory has just announced the Argonne Training Program on Extreme-scale Computing, to be held this year July 28-Aug 9. Application deadline is May 22. This looks like a great opportunity for doctoral students, postdocs and computational scientists to learn about this emerging field (more info)
- (5/1/2013) Students who want to learn more about HPC might check out offerings now available online. One course in particular is just now starting up - Coursera's "High Performance Scientific Computing", by Randall J. LeVeque (University of Washington). This course is 10 weeks, and will cover many of the basic skills needed to work as a computational scientist, with a focus on computing tools, rather than numerical methods. (more info)
